Re: poker rooms
In Response To: poker rooms ()

"...sometimes(maybe always) casino management decisions are made without talking to the people that work a specific area. A good dealer in a poker room will make good money. A good waitress in a poker room will make good money. A good bartender who provides the drinks to the waitress in a poker room will make good money. ALL TIPS!"

Bob; Everything you said above may be quite true. Individual employees may be making money ... but the bottom line is that the CASINO is not making the amount of money per square foot that revenue from slot machines create. Several of Atlantic City's Casinos also have closed their poker rooms AND LOUNGES in order to squeeze more slot machines into valuable floor space. Guess it just comes down to a business decision that the suits make. I don't like to see it happen either ... and I'm not a poker player ... but I did enjoy the lounge entertainment.
