It is hard for manfacturers to get the exact colors on re-orders. I am not sure how the process works, but think it has to do with different employees setting up the run. Many times the original film has been lost and new film is made for the re-order. There is always a variation when this is the case.

The different H/C molds are not assigned to certain chips or casinos. I think this varaition comes from which mold is not in use at the time the run is made. No one makes an effort to make a certain casino's chip on the same mold. If I remember right they are called H/C 1, H/C 2, and H/C 3. I was told the RHC started out to be for chips outside of Nv. As we all know this is not the case.

In the case of BJ- HS chips. They are made from a mold not film. When the original mold can not be found or is broken, a new mold is made. Different fonts are used by employees not taking the time to find the right one.
