Here is the message I received from Jim Campiglia's e-mail this morning. Jim is an old friend of mine--I have bought a lot of chips from him and never had a complaint about or from him. I have no idea who Eddie is. My response follows. I hope you all will hold an open mind about this. However, if I find out who it was that sent the false information, I shall seriously contemplate a libel action and I am not grinning. Jim has not as yet responded to my answer.

COMMENTS CONCERNING A $5.00 HOLIDAY
Travis Lewin, it has come to my
attention on this day that you have cast
most serious aspersions upon my
character in business dealings. The
allegation was made by you that I am
unethical in business dealings
concerning obsolete collectible casino
chips. Such allegations are totally
without merit, without truth, without
conscience. I refer you to the "Unfair
and Deceptive Acts and Practices", 1998
supplement. Your persistence in such
defamatory acts will merit my upmost
Sincerely, Eddy Campiglia
And my response written this a.m. [Note: I thought I was responding to James Campiglia since that was the address on the letter.] Further, I had no idea he [Eddie or James] had gone public with this complaint.

Jim: Thanks for contacting me directly.
But I don't know what you are referring
to. To my knowledge I have not cast
aspersions on any chip you have offered
for sale. Give me a specific reference
to any post I have made and I shall
immediately take steps to review and
retract it. I checked my posts on
CASINO and find nothing that relates to
the HOLIDAY QUEEN chip. I will go
through my posts on GREG'S board but
have no recollection of either that chip
or any post that spoke ill of anyone.
Indeed, the Holiday Queen chip is not in
my collection--I wish I owned one but
doubt that I shall be able to afford
You have been a good friend, honest
dealer, and I assure you that had I
found a problem with any chip you have
offered, I would have come directly to
you and asked about it.
I further assure you, Jim, that if I
have said something that harmed you, I
will do my best to ameliorate that harm.
You didn't tell me where your source of
information came from. On Gregg's Board
I asked for information about a chip
Rene is offering allegedly from the
Esquire Club he attributed generally to
"Nevada" but which Jim P. harshly
criticized him and said it was a
California chip. The only other thing
I have done recently is to send a post
privately to an eBay seller who is
peddling a "King of Clubs" chip from
"Las Vegas" and to whom I pointed out
that there was no Las Vegas club of that
name known to me and that the chip
described appeared to be Bill Borland
fake chips, #N1000 & N0990.
Jim, if we can't clear this up by
e-mail, call me collect and let's
discuss it. I value our future
relationship and if I have said
something to someone about a chip of
yours, I will do all in my power to
correct it. But, again, I have never
questioned a Holiday Queen chip; never
seen one for sale [except several years
ago at the CC>CC convention and I
can't tell you where I saw it]; never
saw a posting from you about it and
indeed haven't seen anything recently
from you about any chip.
I trust we can resolve the problem.
