While in town for the convention, I took a trip west, through Pahrump and on
to Amargosa Valley. Quite a bit of home building going on in the Pahrump area,
and I saw a billboard advertising a coming new casino named "Venture Bay".
After leaving Pahrump, saw no more than 3 vehicles for about 20 miles, a very desolate area.
Finally reached the Amargosa Valley area. The Longstreet Inn and Stateline
Saloon & Gaming Hall are directly across road from each other.
Stateline is hardly more than an old western bar, with one blackjack table that
only opens "when someone asks to play".
