WE WON-WE BEAT THE LODGE

Hi Gene,

WE WON! At least this battle!

The following message comes from Director George Turner of the
Colorado Division of Gaming. Basically, there will be no fight and the
chips are off the market. It was Allen Bannick's message that did it--I'm
sure. It still doesn't resolve the problem with selling chips in Colorado
and we still need to have the Gaming Commission investigate the more
general problem. However, I think George Turner is an advocate for us in
the sense that fairness is important, and he did call "The Lodge" and
basically won it for us. We will never know what was said.

If someone from the Colorado Chapter of the CC&GTCC can still
attend this meeting and present a general case for chip sales by casinos
it could be welcome. I'll still probe Mr. Turner for this possibility.

I believe our points are as follows:

1. Casinos should sell their chips at face value.

2. Provide credibility by using them on their tables for

a time (some of them anyway).

If this it is possible to support these points, then there is still a
chance for the Gaming Commission to provide a resolution for George Turner
to enforce in the future. It gets into free enterprise law I'm sure, so
it would take some time to establish a policy and it could be wishey
washey.

Anyway, this is the good news. No doubt we'll get into this some
time again with a different casino.

Enjoyed working this one out with you. It is always surprising
how things work themselves out. Take care, we'll be visiting the Fiesta
next summer. It was only 108 when we were there.

Subject: RE: Fwd: Lodge Grand Opening Chips (fwd)

I just got off the phone with Mr Cook from the Lodge casino. As of
today, the chip sets will no longer be for sale. He is going to give
away the remaining sets to employees who do an outstanding job. He may
also give away a set to big jackpot winners as a bonus. The chip sets
are off the market for sale. Could you pass this message along to
whomever might be interested? Thanks

Attached here was the message that Allen Bannick wrote and I forwarded to
the director. This came from Chipco's mail listserv. Doug
