Cripple Creek

Here's the latest in what's up in the mining and gaming district of Cripple Creek.
Crystal Canyon has applied for liquor licensing in the former Glitter Gultch building and has been doing some remodeling to the interior of the building. The hearing for granting or denying the license will be held August 19 in front of the Teller County Commissioners. The officers of the corperation intending to open the new casino are listed as residents of Pueblo CO.
A corperation has applied for the same licensing hearing before the Teller County Commissioners to license the former Lucky Lolla's property. The officers of the company list home addresses in Minnesota. No name of the potential new casino was available from the information posted in the windows of the building.
The Palace has removed their recently re-introduced Blackjack table and replaced it with a poker table. The formerly retired $1 chips are officially unretired and back in play.
Bronco Billy's has moved their Blackjack tables from the area that they call "Centerfield" to the far west wall of the complex where the Taco Bell used to be. They are re-covering the tables with new felt at this writing, no action was available, but I was able to obtain one of the old BJ felts just by asking for it. THANK YOU BRONCO BILLY'S!
The building that used to house the Loose Caboose has all of the information concerning Bowl Of Gold Company chip redemption notices removed from the store front windows and the place has been cleaned spotless. ....just speculation on my part, but a closed casino that is this clean would suggest that the building has been sold or leased, so look for a new casino in that property sometime down the road.
...I should've seen this coming. Crapper Jack's has printed rolls of toilet paper for sale in their gift shop, $2.50 per roll....
A variance to zoning use was presented to the same old Teller County coucil, as well as to the Colorado Historical Society (I think that's what it's called for constructing a new building in a protected district) on the land between JP McGills and the ice cream/t-shirt shop attached to the Midnight Rose. ...it's only about 20' wide, but it is unused land in the middle of the main block of Bennett, so it is very valuable. The presentation was last month, and I don't know the outcome of the session. The ice cream shop still has picnic tables in the area.

...just incase anyone was wondering,
Bob
