NEVADA Mold "Commemoratives"
In Response To: Help with value of chips ()

What you probably have, Tom, are some of the chips made by Bill Borland to "commemorate" some of the old casinos in Las Vegas. They are done on the NEVADA mold (which he owned) and seem to all have the opening and closing dates of the club on them. Jerry Wall bought the company and ran the retail outlet for several years. It's now closed and I believe for sale. These chips used to be available for under a dollar at the retail store. I talked to Jerry several months ago about the status of the NEVADA mold and he said it depended on the disposition of the rest of the inventory and equipment of the business.

As to value, these are definitely Fantasy chips, but with maybe more collector interest than some of the Paul-son fatasies as they cannot be purchased cheaply from the maker. At least I don't think so; if someone has info to the contrary , that would be good info to post here. I'd say they are worth $3-5 each, and maybe more to someone who collects that club and wants them to add to a display. Bet I could get $10 each on eBay with the right build-up <g>.

Illustrated below are some of the chips I know about. There are other "denominations" and other clubs on NEVADA mold chips out there. Maybe somebody has a complete set to scan for the bb?
