Casino White Cloud

I was still 4 hours from home at about 7PM last night, returning from a
quick 2 day, 1 night chip run up to St. Jo to see if they had replaced
their chips when they moved to the new casino last Friday. I was about
halfway between St. Jo and the Sac & Fox casino when I saw a sign
pointing North that said "White Cloud 17". I was heading south, and had
ignored the sign on my trip towards St. Jo because I knew they didn't
have table games yet, but, when I saw the sign this time I thought to
myself that Janice would probably like one of their $1 tokens.

I turned and headed towards the "Metropolis" of White Cloud. After
finding White Cloud, I was directed by hand painted signs another 5 - 10
miles to a place that you couldn't find in a million years without help.
There, in the middle of a gravel lot stood a tiny community
center/bingo hall that now had a "Casino" sign on the door. There must
have been at least 20 cars parked out front. <g>

I made my way through the crowd of barefoot kids playing out front with
a dog and went inside. The doors were wide open because they had no air
conditioning. Inside were a few people sitting around an empty bingo
hall, and a magic marker sign pointing to the left that read "<-- Casino."
I could see that they had partitioned off a 20 foot wide strip
on one side of the building and put some slot machines back there.

I found the change person and got a roll of $1 tokens. I knew that I
didn't need all 20, so I looked around a bit and found a machine to
plunk a few of them in. Boom! $300 with the first two tokens. That
turned a slightly losing trip in to a winning trip and made the 4.5 hour
trip back home a lot more pleasant. <g>
