Hi Chuck,
If your're interested in one or two examples of
ivories for your collection, I suggest you search
out those pieces that are in exceptionally good
condition (free of any cracks or nerveholes), as not
only will they enhance your collection, but their
value will increase in years to come.

A typical ivory poker chip without any problems
usually has a price range of between $25 to $80.
There are, of course, many ivories worth much more
and some even worth much less. You may want to stop
by your local library and check out "Antique
Gambling Chips" by Dale Seymour. There, you'll find
the answers to any questions you maight have
pertaining to ivory poker chips.

Herewith, to illustrate what I've mentioned, are two
seperate scans: One shows a grouping of ivory poker
chips having cracks and nervholes that recently sold
for about $12 each, and the other scan shows a rare
$25 Texas Belle ivory chip that has a book value of
close to $1000. Note that the first chip ("25") in
the group of 5-damaged chips sold for an average
price
of about $12 in a grouping of 25-pieces, while an
exact example of that chip without any crack or
nervehole. has
a book value of from $200 to $300.

Hope this is of some help to you Chuck.
