Effective immediately, the Trail of the MoGH's "Tribute to Jackie Gaughan" Exhibit at the El Cortez is on hiatus through December, 2026.

The El Cortez, as part of a major renovation, is remodeling the area where the Exhibit is located. Earlier today, the contents of the Exhibit were removed for safekeeping while the renovations are being made. The Exhibit will return at the end of December.

The MoGH appreciates that the El Cortez has decided to continue this Exhibit after the remodel.

On a personal note, WOW!!!

The El Cortez has been undergoing a major renovation of their gaming floor, restaurants, front desk, and many other areas for quite a while now, and it looks spectacular!

I applaud their desire to preserve their history. The newly installed Slots High Limit area has some great, large-scale portraiture of past (and one current) owners of the property.

The old meeting room where the defunct SNCCC used to conduct monthly meetings is now a huge bar! 'Siegle's 1941' restaurant has been remodeled. And the smell of smoke has been greatly reduced!
