Yep, I played there a bit during the draw & loball player-dealt time-pay days. (Always draw-high for me, never loball.) Not a regular, just an occasional trip down the 405 freeway when I lived in the West LA area. Played some at Gardena / Horseshoe (those were the 2 places at the same location but separated by a driveway in the middle, right?) But my preferred place was the Eldorado.

I used to see Mike Caro around the Gardena cardrooms on occasion. Pretty impressive at the time to me, as he had written the Draw chapter in Brunson's SuperSystem book.

I'm sure the Gardena book covers the 35-table limit (per Gardena city ordinance, I think) and the odd definitional arguments about what CA state law in Sacramento meant about a game called "stud horse poker".

A different era back then.
