I apologize for the word I used, in today's world it's actually a pretty mild criticism. As John suggested, perhaps the word 'incomplete' would be better.
Jim: yes I am speaking for myself. And I didn't criticize their website, I criticized a single page.
James: apologies if criticizing a single web page makes things hard for you. I never claimed to know your business or to tell you what to show or not show. Someone at Caesars decided to put that page up.
To be clear: I am very appreciate of the opportunity to help Caesars Corporation celebrate it's history. And I am VERY appreciative of the effort of the MoGH (especially Jim & Pam) to get the displays cases set up & collect, catalog and display dozens of items generously loaned by our members.
But I still don't understand the function of the page (as it sits right now). It does talk about the "Caesars Palace 60th ANNIVERSARY EXPERIENCE", and "Discover the legacy of Caesars Palace through a curated collection of photographs, memorabilia, and artifacts celebrating six decades of innovation, hospitality, and excellence."
Great pictures and great descriptions of a small set of items.
And then...nothing (except ads for the a store and the spa). No mention that this is an actual physical location at Caesars that can be visited in person (as opposed to a virtual museum), where it is, when it's open, etc (like we detail in the Press Release I just helped send out: http://www.thechipboard.com/index.cgi/md/read/id/1791111/sbj/news-release-mogh-contributes-to-caesars-palace/), like this:
Adding something like the above, I feel, would make the message of the page complete. It would send potential visitors to the exhibit. Right now it just build up all this great stuff...and then leaves them hanging...
Looking at the formatting of the blocks on the page, it's almost like that information could have been in a block just above the ad for the 60th merch, but maybe was cut off?
