I remember when the Silver State Mint had a display
in the back of the Mint casino in the 80s. It was an
enclosed area with a press and a bunch of their silver
tokens on display. They also had a store on Paradise
Road and one on Boulder Hiway where they sold “error”
gaming tokens for $2.00 that they struck for collectors.
I remember the owner got in some sort of trouble with
state and may have faced some prison time. I don’t
remember the outcome though.
