Bugsy Siegel is often credited with building the Flamingo and creating modern Las Vegas, but the real story is much more complicated.
My new Casino Time Capsule video follows Benjamin Siegel from Brooklyn and Hollywood to the El Cortez, the race wire and the troubled opening of the Flamingo. It also looks at Billy Wilkerson's original plans, the resort's financial problems, Siegel's still-unsolved murder and what happened to the Flamingo after he was gone.
I used my own narration with period photographs, FBI documents and archival footage to bring the story back to life.
