The Mint 400 motorcycle race played a tangential part in the plot for Hunter S. Thompson's "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" (book & subsequent movie). The main character was supposed to be covering the Mint 400 race for a magazine article. Of course, they did everything BUT cover the race. However, they did visit an early Circus Circus Casino. (All fictional of course.)
