If you're a fan of the movie Casino or just a general fan of the Chicago Outfit, you'll be pleased to know that the Marina Hotel which was one of four mob run casinos is still there..... it's just hidden in plain sight!
The 714 room Marina Hotel and Casino opened in 1975 on Las Vegas blvd at Tropicana (top).

In 1989, MGM bought the Marina hotel and demolished all but the building with the rooms.

The MGM green skin was added the rooms were gutted and all new fixtures and air circulating systems were installed. The old Marina rooms are smaller than the newer standard rooms.

In 1993, the MGM Grand opened with 5005 rooms as the worlds largest hotel.

Few realize that the old Marina hotel is still there.
