I visited the Silver Slipper many times over the years. My favorite
activity was watching the Boy-Lesque show where all the “girls”
were actually boys. One song in particular featured a big fat topless
guy dressed in a tutu with a sucker in his mouth lip syncing to “My
Boy Lollipop.” Of course he looked just like a topless girl and it was
hilarious. When I worked at the Overland in Reno in the 60s and early
70s one of my favorite bosses was Jim Brady who told me his ex-wife,
Jean was the first woman dealer on the Strip at the Silver Slipper. I
remember going to final day of operation and was sad to see it close.
