Before Harrah's became a national casino giant, it began with a small bingo operation in downtown Reno.
My newest casino-history documentary tells the story of the original Harrah's: Bill Harrah's early clubs, the 1946 casino, its famous service culture, showroom entertainment, downtown expansion, automobile collection and the strange 2020 closing that became permanent.
