Mike Nawrocki cracked the code on how to post pictures properly on the ChipBoard from iPhones:

After you take the picture do some kind of editing to it. Crop it a little or whatever. Then post the modified image. That seems to make the orientation correct. (Simply rotating the image on the iPhone isn’t enough)
