Since Lady Luck was one block behind the downtown "casino row" on Fremont Street, they had to try harder with some of their gimmicks to get you in the front door.

One of them (now quaint) was the free long-distance phone call. I think it was 3-minutes max. They had the phone booth set up and probably installed an 800 number calling-out.

I never did use it, but it was novel at the time. None of the other casinos did a copy-cat.
