Re: WhatsApp group for CCA members and casino chip

Carlo,
Welcome to the CCA. Bob M. and his mentor program won't steer you wrong. I'm an "old timer", as a chip collector for 4 decades & still enjoying it. So I'm not the one to ask about Social Media places to hang out. grin

I will throw out a few tips:
1. As a member, you have access to the MoGH / ChipGuide, including the advanced features and info. You should sign up there, with your Membership number & create a password. Then check out the "ChipGuide Query Facility" under the "Search" tab. In my personal opinion, it's worth the annual membership cost all by itself, although you'll find the personal friendships you make in the CCA are actually priceless!
Go to: https://chipguide.themogh.org

Since you have interest in older Las Vegas chips -- these "golden age" chips are one of my favorites too -- you can do a "Query" search on just USA > Nevada > Las Vegas chips, date range between 1931 (legalization date in Nevada) and 1971 (or whatever cutoff date you want). And specify only certain denominations (like $1 or $5) or leave blank for all denominations.

The results of the above search is 57 pages (2817 chips) to look at. I'm showing a screenshot of just page 1 below.

And see those red dots beneath each chip -- "MC" is "My Collection" to mark which chips you have, "WL" is your "Want List" and "TL" is your trade list, for extras you have. (All these red buttons are optional, but can be useful when talking to other chippers.)

2. I have some other suggestions for you if interested, but I'll stop there for now. Send me an email (pardue@cox.net) if you have other questions and I'll try to help. A bit of advice, your area of interest is a great one, but chips from that era can be pricy at times and/or hard to find. Go slow as you decide how you want to curate your personal collection. You don't want to burn out, but be a chip collector for the long term. grin

3. In addition to being an individual collector, I wear a couple of additional "hats" -- I currently serve on the CCA board of directors, along with Bob M., so let me say welcome again. And I also operate the "Promotions" function, which sells various CCA logo items. So, if you want to purchase a coffee mug or shirt, CCA convention chips & pins, or other logo items, let me know and I'll direct you where to get them. I don't know if our new online logo store easily ships to non-USA locations, but if you have difficulty, I'll work with you on it.

Know that, even after 4 decades of collecting, I'm still finding classic-era chips that have been on my "want list" for years. But it takes work. The thrill is in the hunt though, right?
