I have been asked how much the ChipGuide is worth in the past and thought it would be a good time update the answer. First, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and so far no one has asked to buy it. But, I can calculate approximately how much it would cost for someone to build the ChipGuide:
Items on the ChipGuide: 347,566
Average time to process an item (for both submitter and Admin): 5 minutes (could be more or less, but on average)
Total time to process items: 1,737,830 minutes or 28,964 hours
At $20/hour, that would be: $579,280
Casinos on the ChipGuide: 33,081
Average time to process an item (Admin): 5 minutes (could be more or less, but on average)
Total time to process items: 165,405 minutes or 2,757 hours
At $20/hour, that would be: $55,140
Website Development Time: 3,000 hours @ $50/hour: $150,000 (database design and programming, 17 years)
Website Development Costs (software licenses and server): $20,000 (over 17 years)
Totals
Process Items - $579,280
Process Casinos - $55,140
Website Programming - $150,000
Website HW & SW - $20,000
Total - $804,420
No one was paid for their work, it was all done on a volunteer basis. But, if someone were to buy (or just take?) the ChipGuide content, this is how much "value" they would be getting.
