Thanks for posting this, Pam!

I was at the show every day, +3 days before, and I’m still in Las Vegas as I write this. That said, I was too busy to visit more than a handful of tables, so this walk-through is going to give me a chance to see if any of the dealers have items that I’m interested in that I can follow up with after I get home.

So, as far as content goes, I give this a thumbs up in 100% approval.

As far as reach goes, this video will reach thousands of people, which probably exceeds the number of contacts we have in concert contact.

QR codes are definitely the future. I did a TV interview on channel 5 on Tuesday before the show and before I got back to the Southpoint, three people registered for the convention. How many more came to the show because of that three minute segment? Did I do the best job? Absolutely not. I’ve been kicking myself for could’ve would’ve should’ve ever since I did that segment. I will do better next time.

Did any of the people complaining here generate a single attending to the show? No.

Did any of the complainers prevent anyone from coming to the show? Maybe. On the other hand, by showing their hand, attendees know who to avoid.

We still have a lot of data to process, including the “how did you hear about us” question from the registration cards, but here’s what I know at this point:

Our auction had 10% more items and finished in the same timeframe.
The auction generated over $8000 in hammer prices, plus buyer premiums that have yet to be added up.
84 people participated in the club auction, versus around 30 in a typical year.
30% of the bidders one items by bidding online. Only 20% asked to have their items shipped, which means they could not attend the auction in person but were able to participate online. I don’t know if they were in town and bidding from their hotel room or just hadn’t arrived in town yet. But it shows that adding the online aspect to the auction paid dividends in more bidders as well as higher bids.

Our membership Director reported 24 new member sign ups AT THE SHOW. I’ve seen at least four more Paypal payments since the show ended, bringing our total close to 30. Two auction winners who are not non-members stated they intend to sign up in the next month or two. We collected an extra 5% buyers premium from non-members.

Our publicity chair, social media director, and others have done an outstanding job reaching out to hundreds of online content creators, Facebook pages, and direct contacts through email to reach our intended audience. It paid off in spades. More attendees. Younger attendees. More buying and less “just looking” (per Dealer feedback).

I plan to make a full, detailed report on all convention activities once I have a chance to discuss things with everyone. I suspect David Spragg, convention chair, will make one as well. He did a tremendous job with the show this year and locked us in for another year at the SouthPoint, which makes everyone super happy. Well, I shouldn’t presume everyone will be happy. Some people are never happy.

* apologies for any typos or grammar errors. As many of you know, I use voice to text to create many of my emails and posts.

As you can see, I’m on my way to the post office to drop off the last of the auction item shipments. I brought a label printer that did double duty printing shipping labels as well as badges for the walk-ins at the show. Worked flawlessly and was a big-time saver.

Doesn't appear to be much of a concern.
