() Ralph Pollack is the expert on casino chips from the Caribbean. He provided this explanation about the chips:
The $ 1.00 white chip was distributed to ALL members of the ANA for their post ANA meeting / convention in Aruba from August 30 to September 3, 1976. It was housed in a clear plastic holder. This was referenced on page 24 of my year 2000 book.
The DBBRCR chips were made by / distributed by GAMEX company probably made in Leominster, MA.
Due to the poor design of these chips, they were easily soiled due to the porosity of the outer sides (the center of the sandwich was a durable plastic). So, some are around 'dirty-like' while most are uncirculated. They had a metal wafer under the round center inlay so as to be more 'weighted'., My guess is that they may have been slightly used or were never used on the casino tables.
