The Thunderbird Casino Las Vegas is the only casino memorabilia I collect. First trip to Vegas was 1972 and stayed at the Thunderbird a couple nights and a couple nights at the downtown Horseshoe. Thunderbird has been my favorite since then. Now the reason I know dates of Thunderbird images in vacation film is I know all scheduled entertainers that have performed at the Thunderbird by appearance dates starting with opening night 9/2/48 through 12/31/76 closing night. The T-bird marque list current entertainment and a lookup of those entertainers in my research material gives me performance dates of 9/20/56 - 10/10/56. About 12 years ago I made a 10 day stay in Las Vegas and spent a 5 full days at Leed library doing research on Thunderbird casino. By knowing dates of entertainers any images on post cards, photographs, etc. that show marque with entertainers I can narrow time frame of item to a slot of time. That is it.
