I was acquainted with your Dad "back in the day". As I recall, he lived in the Inland Empire (Riverside or somewhere close?) for a while and then moved to Leisure World (now Laguna Woods) after that.

I'm in So. Cal. too (Laguna Hills) and on a return trip, coming back from Las Vegas one time, I stopped by his home in the Inland Empire to look over his collection -- and bought a handful of chips from him. I should have stopped by to see him in Leisure World, as it's just a couple of miles from me, but never did get over there.

Fred was a class guy, as a chipper and person. And I may be wrong on this recollection, but didn't he have a cool Corvette? Convertible? Hope you kept it!
