At one time, the Barrel House was owned by Norman
“Wes” Westmoreland who also ran the bar at the Arizona
Club. In 1937 he opened the Ghost Casino, a roadhouse
and brothel with a single 21 game in Rhyolite Nevada.
He ran it alone for 23 years retiring in 1947 to Arizona.
His sister later ran the place as a rock and junk shop
into the 70s. I remember buying some shamrock chips
that were used on the 21 game there. Photo shows Wes
