Stopped by the Cadence Crossing that opened
yesterday (3/25/26) at noon. No live gaming,
chips, tokens, dice, ashtrays, matches, or napkins.
Just a glorified slot joint, rather disappointing no
need to go back. The old Jokers Wild next door to
be torn down. I remember the old Swanky Club that
was there and owner Frankie Carr singing while he
dealt 21. All the old buildings that housed clubs
(Bingo Barn, Ligouris, Magnesium, Hut, Jolly Jug)
are gone except for the old Victory Club I used to
stop by in the 70s (photo). All these new joints
all look the same to me. The old places in the 60s
and 70s had personality.
