Please recognize these numbers for what they are, and don't use them to try to calculate how much additional revenue the CCA is receiving due to the 'monetization' of the ChipGuide.
The numbers I have posted simply reflect what I have received in response from some of the new members to my questions when they sign up.
As I said when I posted this, not everyone replies and not everyone answers all the questions. There are many new members who are not reflected anywhere in my post since they didn't reply or answer the specific question.
Maybe even more important to keep in mind can be explained as a couple of examples:
Dan, for the people who have signed up and listed you as the referring member, we have no way of knowing if the access to enhanced features of the ChipGuide played any part in their deciding to join since their new membership is reflected in my post as 1 additional number under your name.
Likewise, for Former Members coming back - while they are listed in my post as a 'former member', we have no way to know if the ChipGuide or the Convention, or the Magazine (digital or printed), or something else had anything to do with their return.
There are certainly benefits to capturing this data over time (also important is the Exit Survey data when members decide to not renew), however we need to treat the data for what it actually is and use caution when trying to use it as absolute values.
Thanks.
