…As an almost 30 year member of the CCA & a very good friend of Greg Susong, here are my thoughts.

Greg NEVER charged a cent for anything he created for his love of the hobby of chip collecting. Not when he set up the Prodigy board, CompuServe group, The Chip Board & The Chip Guide. Not any of them!

But now the CCA Board is scrambling to try & save the CCA because the money is running out. Charging to use The Chip Guide should not be one of those ways. First of all, the few you get to pay is just water in a bucket. People can find information other ways, eBay, chip dealer’s Websites, etc. Maybe not as extensive, but it is out there.

I think you will get MORE people wanting to join the CCA once they see/use The Chip Guide for FREE than holding their feet to the fire to make them become members. Give them the free appetizer, then they just might want to pay for a complete dinner.
