() Not to disparage the worth or value or effort that has gone into TCG, how about $1 for a one month trial, once a year. Use a phone number as the ID so people like me, with 27 email accounts can't just ride free forever. $20 a year subscription for non-members. That works out to $20 more for the club, rather than nothing.
As mentioned and I'll suppose others have thought of this as well. Lets say someone finds some chips in their Grandfathers sock drawer. At least for a dollar, they can get an idea of what they have and from where? This would be more help for us, because a well informed seller will have more of the right information. Also who knows, maybe someone starting, would like to see what they have and that could lead to a club membership.
Phase two, a discount on membership for the first year, for people who take the trial month and like what they see. Say $10 to make it very attractive. For anyone who takes the year and decides they want to join the club, a half price first year club membership, which offsets the cost of the TCR subscription that they paid for. But just another incentive to get someone to join the club, and see how much fun this is.
Just the part about fakes, frauds, store chips and Borlands would be worth the exposure. I started and bought a Casino de Ithmus City $1,000 at a coin show and thought I got a real steal at $3. Only to find out, after I discovered and joined the club, that I had a Paulson fantasy store chip.
The trial is a good idea. Maybe just lower the price?
