The membership issue is THE hot button topic because it drives the entire organization. The convention does make money, but with increased costs, that might not last forever. Making sure we keep the membership numbers up is crucial.

I mentioned in my talk about understand the needs of our volunteers and working on the club's infrastructure and communications. I've heard from some important volunteers (some lost already) who gave some feedback on how we can do things better. I think that is something the Board needs to work on.

I also believe the club needs to have a better financial plan that reaches into the future. My day job was a FP&A manager/controller (financial, planning & analysis) for a large non-profit. I'm very familiar with building forecast/budgets and the necessity of tracking and understanding the trends and variances. To the rank-and-file this must sound like the most boring thing in the world, but its in my blood.

There are a bunch of other topics which I'd like to see:
- building more benefits for membership
- enhancing the retention rate through member engagement
- Revamp of the members only side of the website

I'm sure there will be plenty more that comes up.
