Re: Waldorf grin Reno day 134
In Response To: Waldorf grin Reno day 134 ()

By the time I got to Reno in the 60s, all the games had
been removed even the slots. It was mostly a locals
place with a disc jockey and cartoon drawings of many
of the customers plastered on the walls. One time I
asked the owner if there were any chips around from when
the place had a full casino. He took me in the back room
and opened a small safe, got down on his hands and knees
pulled out a small canvas bag of around a hundred of the
old blue Taylor five dollar chips. He handed it to me and said
“here ya go” or something to that effect. After the place
closed it became a club called Bimbos and, if I recall, had
some small tokens for something, maybe drinks.
