() Great feedback, Bob.
On the subject of quantity, I felt in auctions past that when certain items weren't getting bids, the auctioneers would, in an attempt to nurse SOME value out of the items, extend the time given to an item, thus taking up more auction time. I'm hopeful that with the advent of dozens, hundreds, or even thousands more eyeballs checking out our auction online, that bidding will be more fervent, getting us to the final value more quickly, and thus allowing us to move through more items per hour than before. We'll have to see, of course, and the pace and interest will largely be set by our 2 live auctioneers.
If we set the limit at 200 live items and get through them in well under 3 hours, we may opt to add more next year. And if the opposite is true, maybe consider lowering the number. Of course, if we see a windfall of value overall (multiples of total hammer price over prior years), we can get lazy (fewer items, shorter auction) or greedy (more items, longer auction) next year.
Thanks again for reading and giving your feedback.
