Re: US 40 Tavern grin Reno day 130
In Response To: US 40 Tavern grin Reno day 130 ()

According to Kling, the US 40 Tavern became the Carnival
Room in 1967 but I remember going in the place in the early
seventies when it was just a dance hall called the US 40.
There was no gambling, entertainment or restaurant, just
a lot of people dancing and local DJ Pete Carothers may
have even broadcasted from there. I can’t explain the
discrepancies except maybe the name was changed back
as I don’t remember any Carnival Room. Fourth st. (US 40)
was the the main road through town and extremely busy.
I had an apartment about three blocks from the place.
