Thanks Barry, what you find may steer the direction of this.

If its a lot of people do it, that's a different conversation than if 10 people did it 20 years ago.

2 more thoughts:
- it reminds me a little of buying stuff in a store. If I buy at full price does that mean the store can never put it on sale? Give coupons? Stop selling it?
- is this policy of needing to pay back-dues to get an old number written anywhere? I scoured the membership pages on the web site and I don't see it spelled out. (but it may be buried somewhere)
