Fellow collectors and Club Members,
One of our greatest assets as a club is the annual convention.
For many of us, it’s the highlight of the year. The friendships, the education, the trading, the fellowship — that’s where the hobby really comes alive.
What if we looked at the convention not only as a reunion, but also as a recruitment engine?
Every year there are collectors in Las Vegas during that same week for other events — poker tournaments, memorabilia shows, casino history enthusiasts, gaming industry visitors. Many of them may not even know the CCA exists.
A few ideas worth considering:
• Make parts of the convention more outward-facing and visible
• Highlight educational sessions publicly in advance
• Encourage members to invite local collectors as guests
• Create programming that introduces new collectors to the hobby
• Use short videos and social media clips to showcase the energy of the show
We already have something special. With a little intentional outreach, the convention could also become one of our strongest tools for attracting new members.
Retention keeps us strong. Recruitment keeps us growing. The convention can help us do both.
Respectfully, and focused on the future,
Dan Madrigrano, R9148 for VP of the CCA
