I re-read my reply and you're right. It did come off as defensive. What I was looking for was exactly what Westen replied with. What specifically did he think we needed.

To avoid repeating myself, I think I outlined how we can tackle this issue using modern social media tools and outlets. See Dan's "Are We Talking To Ourselves" post for my (lengthy) reply.

My next question is the same one I and the board have been asking for almost a year now. Who wants the job of Social Media Director (or later, Marketing Director)? Initial duties:

-- Manage current social media assets we own, including the CCA Forums, facebook, instagram, YouTube, X, others?
-- Manage presence on other assets such as The Chip Board, pokerchipper.com, pokerchipforum.com, facebook and instagram pages (there are TONS of these)
-- Calendar information releases, fresh content, engagement, interviews, seminars, Q&As, celebrity profiles, job openings, "A look back" (showcasing past conventions, local club activities, notable events, awards like the one our Magazine has earned, etc).
-- Execute and oversee all of the above and be prepared to measure what works and what doesn't and prepare regular reports for the board and board meetings.

Who is reading this right now and saying "I think I can do that"? Apply within. We're waiting for someone to stop telling us what we NEED to do and step up and DO IT.
