Hello again. Auction house Barry here again to request that you all go through your beautiful binders, bins, and baskets of collectibles and cough up some of those wonderful items that you don't really want to part with, but understand how much it will help the club if your coveted items fetch a high price at the club auction this year.
This isn't a done deal, but I'm going to TRY and launch an online auction that will run in conjunction with our live auction, bringing way more eyeballs and bidders and deep-pocketed people that can't attend the auction in person to help make this the most successful auction we've ever had. You and your stuff could be making club history! Dick Bartley and Jerry Birl will be our live auctioneers this year, which I'm very excited about.
I currently have 57 items catalogued (no Doug Saito-level fairy dust in the descriptions yet). It looks like we have had around 200 items in each auction in the past. So, I'd love to get another 150 or so committed items sent my way soon as I would like to bottle up the catalog long in advance of the convention. The auction software will take a LOT of the post-auction work off my hands, obviating the need to stay up until wee hours of the morning sorting invoices and handling taxes, etc as poor David and Jay have had to do in the past. It SHOULD all be automatically handled as soon as the auction concludes.
Which means we COULD handle even more items and go later into the evening with the actual auction and just go to bed when done instead of poring over paperwork. Wouldn't that be sweet?
The items I've received so far are awesome and should do well in the auction. When I get the images tied in with the descriptions, I'll start putting out teaser catalogs I think.
Send email to auction@ccgtcc.com to let me know what you want to contribute. Items can be donated (100% goes to club, and obviously preferred) or consigned (10% goes to club, you get the rest). You can mix and match (some donated and some consigned). The auction software I'm looking into is pretty flexible with that stuff.
