Reno day 106
() It was a little walk, and they had interesting specials. I can't remember now if they had slot tourneys or Keno entertainment or what it was, but it was an event, fun, and good times.
I played Keno while I killed time, good fun for someone cheap. (that's me) The oyster bar was an attraction in itself. Too bad, I didn't collect chips quite yet. Back then I had never played craps, which is what I did, when I started collecting, because many places had the $1 and 50ยข chips on the tables. The dollar tokens at others weren't interesting, and others still used half dollars.
The two trips (sfter the first MGM trip) that I made for the ABC bowling tournament were nice walks at night. Up and down the downtown, coupons for a free towel or a pen or something, which were stamped, and said come back in an hour and get the gift. Nice way to hold people, but I was wearing out my shoes, walking to every casino just to see them.
We stayed at the Eldorado, which was a nice short walk to the Riverboat. Ethel M's across the street and a nice store next to that. When I won a little, I'd go across the street, buy chocolates to take home, so I wouldn't spend the money gambling. Gifts from my winnings. One trip, my first, I believe, was the MGM. It was isolated and getting to downtown wasn't that easy.
Let me adjust that. The Riverboat was my favorite place in Reno. The fun, the atmosphere, and the seafood bar, which was only an oyster bar for me. ๐ Good old Reno that sure was a nice place.
