Doug,
I can totally understand your reluctance based on your time constraints. I would hope that somebody else could step up. Maybe someone that you choose to be fair and impartial. The format that you used could be adaptable to any new moderator. It is important that people actually hear answers to questions that are relevant to the club's future. Without this kind of a format or venue, this the whole election becomes a popularity contest. We don't need popular officers what we need, our officers that have an opinion and a point of view that will help the club. The only way we're going to know that is by listening to what they have to say. They have submitted statements to the magazine which is good but we need more. What's alarming to me is that there are club members already endorsing candidates without even knowing anything about the other candidates. Such complacency does nothing to help our club grow. We need fresh perspectives and people that are willing to step up to the plate and actually get some things done for the future of our club.
