I remember playing those old mechanical slots
in the 70s. Charlie Mapes had the consession and
had signs posted that said “slugs will not be
returned” which I thought was funny at the time.
Those machines were just as tight as the ones at
the hotel. I never did hit a jackpot on Mapes machines.
