2026 CCA Election - Amendments
In addition to the 3 contested elections on this year's ballot for Vice President, Secretary and At Large #2, there are also 3 proposed Amendments to vote on.
While those amendments may look a bit confusing on the ballot where they list specific articles and sections, I wanted to explain them simple here and what they actually are for.
Amendment A - LESS RESTRICTIVE NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Currently our clubs constitution mentions that election ballots are only to be "Mailed" to members.
This amendment increases the potential ways that this can be done by not limiting it to only mailed ballots.
It allows ballots to be Mailed, Emailed, Sent in the Newsletter, published in a yearbook, or posting on the clubs message board or other social media platform.
It makes notification of Election ballots ness restrictive which is important with rising postage costs and other easily available methods to accomplish the same result.
Amendment B - BOARD ENDORSMENT PROHIBITIONS
While there is no mention of this in the current constitution, this amendment states that sitting CCA Board members will not publicly endorse, support or oppose candidates running for office. this does not restrict incumbent officers of endorsing themselves for an election, it just states that board members not in a current election, may not publicly endorse others on behalf of the club.
Amendment C - Correct Numeric Value
Currently the constitution reads that membership consists of 7 different types of members. That was always a mistake and we want to correct that to read 6 types.
The CCA Board of Directors recommends a yes vote on all 3 amendments.
Hopefully this post makes these proposed amendments clearer as what they are intended to do.
