Ill admit that....

I might have laughed out loud at the Groundhog day and the broken record meme's BUT..........

"The days of getting people interested in our hobby by in-person greeting and shaking hands is gone. Yes, some of like to be social, but we're (how can I say it nicely), we're OLD. The attendees of the ANA were a good mix of younger and older, I would say more focused right in the middle at mid30s-40s. They don't want to be handed a pamphlet and told about the hobby by some old guy (like me). "

The above quote may be part of our problem. Respectfully, and I mean that sincerely, Social is the key aspect to every club and social events are what keep a club alive. To say "we're old" and suggest that all we have is "old" and pamphlets (which I agree is old school) to offer seems a bit defeatist in nature.

The social aspect of the club is shown in many past pictures and events and what has shown excitement. We need to appeal and drive toward the younger collectors and become MORE social, not less.

Not saying ANA and FUN is the answer or not the answer but the post and the reply points out some things to reflect on
My 2 cents for what its worth.

I wanna be like Barry when I grow up so Ill start putting my campaign logo on all my posts! SO FUN!
