it opens doors AND eyes of all types of chip collectors. I don't know if the issue still exists, but I remember from years ago that the concern from the "singles" collectors was that new sets were being produced that closely -- perhaps TOO closely -- resembled chips from the past that may have been deemed scarce. So a collector spends hundreds or thousands of dollars on a scarce chip & someone manufactures several racks that look far too similar to what that singles collector just bought. And the end concern is if someone gets a hold of one or two of the chips from the new sets & sells it on eBay as the real thing -- the buyer gets screwed & may sour on the chip collecting hobby. That's not good for any chip collector -- sets or singles. When I first got the chip collecting bug & right before I knew of the
, I bought a TON of chips on eBay that were advertised as real Las Vegas casino chips that ended up NOT being what they were advertised as. Very disappointing to a new chip collector, that's for sure. I don't know of any other reason why set collectors would not be welcome in this club or hobby. I enjoy seeing all of those great looking chip sets & can imagine that it would be awfully cool to sit down at a poker table & play with those chips.
I wish you success in your endeavours to better unite the singles & set groups.
