they ordered them before we knew they would be discontinued. They may have ordered them from the mint for a few dollars a roll, or from the bank for 50 cents a roll. After the announcement, sometimes word goes out among collectors that companies like Littleton or Home Shopping Network are paying a certain price - I sold a lot of Kennedy half dollar sets to one of those places about 15 years ago. There were limit orders from the Mint, but I had multiple accounts and could sell them in bulk

I agree they will never be worth what sellers are hyping.
