As a coin show attendee, "all over the floor" is a bit of an exaggeration. That said, there are collectors who crack out coins because they prefer raw (a declining number), other collectors and dealers who crack out coins to re-submit to try to get a higher grade (the grading companies accept submissions at the major shows). And now a lot of silver and gold collectible coins are getting cracked out to sell for melt at the shows.
