Like many I am not anti slabbing or pro slabbing for the hobby in general.

That covers how I feel as well. It's not for me, but I'm not going to tell anyone else, what they should do or want.

The OP makes a good point as well. If there was some reasonable, well founded, service that could authenticate and verify the high end chips, that would benefit those who collect those, and the legitimacy of the hobby. It's not an easy challenge.

There's also a positive in that most people involved in chip collecting, are willing to share their knowledge and help anyone else, by answering questions about potential fakes, altered or tribute chips. Without a fee. Just Ask?
