For me it less about grading a chip but condition is a factor when I did buy chips. I just want to know what is actually out there. Right now we only have James and Steves book where they applied Rarity numbers on them but that was years ago. We could as a hobby identify them and put them in a national registry where each one is serialized (This would only apply to very few chips). This would keep the owner anonymous but would give everyone an idea how many actually survived over the years.
For now that is all I really want to know.
