Reno day 83
Reno day 83
() I used to go in the Oak Room on my breaks when I
worked at the Overland, across the alley, to talk
with Al Figoni, the owner, in the early 70s. The way I
remember it, the Bright Spot, a bar with slots and the
Oak Room with a 21 and poker both existed in the
Greyhound bus depot. I don’t remember any entertainment.
Al was a great guy and let me in the basement where
there were fifty and hundred dollar Colbrandts chips
scattered about which he let me have. Al also had the
old Mint Club and gave me chips from there one time.
He also owned several bars around Reno (see photo).
